Search behaviour is splitting. Some buyers still scan ten blue links; a growing share ask an AI engine and act on its answer. Both need to find you.
How AI engines pick sources
AI answer engines retrieve pages that answer a question directly, come from clearly identified entities, and are corroborated elsewhere. Vague pages that bury the answer under marketing copy rarely get cited.
The GEO checklist we apply
- Put a direct, quotable answer near the top of each page and article.
- Use FAQ, Article, Organization and Service schema so machines can parse who you are and what you do.
- Keep entity information consistent: name, location, services, people — across your site and profiles.
- Write question-led headings that match how buyers actually ask.
- Link Services, Industries, Work and Insights to each other to reinforce topical authority.
GEO does not replace SEO
Core Web Vitals, crawlability, internal linking and authoritative content still decide whether you are found at all. GEO adds the structure that makes your expertise citable.
Where to start
Audit how AI engines currently describe your business for your top ten buyer questions. The gaps you find become the content plan.
